The company cultivates fish fat cells to produce healthier and tastier meat alternatives.
“Singapore is the first and only country that really has a regulatory framework for the cultured meat space, but we all believe it,” said Ms. Mandy Hon, chief executive officer of the homegrown company. The United States is indeed the next market that will have approved regulation. So we are all preparing for that.”
In Singapore, people are still more conservative in their dietary preferences, she added.
“There are a lot of vegetarians in the United States and there are a lot of people looking for alternatives. Also, they can accept new things, novel foods.”
